What is death monitoring? Mechanism, monitoring methods, and how to choose tools.
Explanation of detection range, false detection patterns, and notification design of monitoring methods from a practical perspective.
From the definition of dead/alive monitoring, Technosphere, which develops its own server monitoring systems, will explain from a practical perspective the detection ranges and false detection patterns of ICMP Ping, TCP ports, HTTP(S), and agent-based monitoring, as well as notification design to prevent alert fatigue and the break-even point between OSS (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus) and SaaS (Mackerel, Datadog).
